Bleachers
This is one of the books I have read this year so far. It is also by far the best book I have read in a long time. I really like the perspective that John Grisham took on Bleachers, it really drew my attention how he used the characters to portray the story line. The story has many important characters; I will list and describe all important characters, but first I want to tell you about the setting. The book takes place in a small town called Messina, a football drawn town. Everything in this place was focused around their football team, the Messina Spartans. Coached by a well renowned man named Eddie Rake, The first character I want to talk about is Neely Crenshaw, whose perspective the story is mostly seen through.
The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games was written by Suzanne Collins, she published the book in 2008. This is the first book in a three book series. This is also the book that I am currently reading, and I plan to continue reading the rest of the series. The first chapter in the book sets the stage and introduces the story line and a few characters. The characters that we meet are Katniss Everdeen, Primrose Everdeen, and their widowed mother. Out of these characters, Katniss is the main protagonist as well as one of the main characters in the book. The other main character in the series is not introduced to the reader until later in the chapter, the characters name is Peeta Mellark. He is met through the Reaping for the 74th annual Hunger Games. The Reaping is where two tributes from each district are chosen to participate in the games, one boy, and one girl tribute. There are 24 tributes in all, and these tributes are sent into an arena to fight to the death, there can only be one winner. These tributes are all trained by a mentor, these mentors are usually past victors from their districts.

This book is without a doubt my favorite book of all time. Written by Joan Hiatt Harlow, published in 2004. I have read this book several times and haven't been able to put it down each time. The book is set in 1929, placed around a thirteen year old boy named Tom who has left to live with a fisherman and his wife to work with them. He then proceeds to save a Newfoundland Dog in the middle of a storm in the sea. He befriends the dog and they form an unbreakable bond throughout the book. But then things take a turn for the worst in Tom's life, the fisherman so wife becomes pregnant and his dog which he named Thunder, the owner of him may have been found. He must push through this hard time in his life to keep persuing his dreams and to keep Thunder in his life.
